Drying Shed at Five Finger Farms

This shed was built to dry herbs on our small farm in Ferndale, CA. Made with straw-slip insulation and cement plaster, this shed provided a breathable yet insulated space to dehydrate top quality medicinal herbs. A 2x6 frame is stuffed with clay-coated straw, which hardens into a rigid insulation. This then becomes the perfect surface for both natural and cement based plasters.
